Industrial Designer

Industrial Designer – Outward Hound – Centennial, CO

Outward Hound is seeking an Industrial Designer to aid in designing world-class dog and cat products that delight and enhance the lives of pets and pet parents.

Bring your dog to work! Outward Hound, a world leader in the pet products industry, is searching for an Industrial Designer to join our “Woof Pack”. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be charged with designing world-class dog and cat products that delight and enhance the lives of pets and pet parents. We are looking for a team member with exceptional design skills combined with the ability to manage projects from concept through to manufacture.

Description: Responsible for translating rough new product concepts into viable product platforms and seeing them through to manufacture and commercialization.

Specific Responsibilities:

TEAM:

Work alongside marketing, engineering and design leads to maximize creative output and assist with day to day product development operations.

Take the ball and run with it – start with an idea and make it better.

DESIGN:

Engage in research and reporting of insights.

Work with team to expose areas of exploration and generate concepts.

Translate concepts into viable product platforms.

Maintain design continuity through to manufacture.

EXECUTION:

Sketch product ideas, build hand mock-ups and manage rapid prototypes.

Assist with material testing, research and documentation.

Develop accurate Solidworks CAD files and maintain revision control.

Create product specifications, bid packages and internal communication documents, keeping all current through commercialization.

Manage retail audits and document in-store POG and pricing activity.

Requirements:

BFA or BS in Industrial Design or related field is a must.

Ideally, 2 years of working experience in Product Design or Product Development.

Professional experience in consumer products, in particular, toy design.

Able to work independently as well as with a team.

Able to work under pressure and under extremely tight deadlines.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional at concept sketching and product renderings.

Must display an eagerness to learn and a willingness to accept constructive criticism and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Understanding of basic manufacturing methods is a plus.

Proficiency in Solidworks; proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Marketing Intern

Marketing Intern -Outward Hound- Centennial, Colorado

Outward Hound is seeking a Marketing Intern to help grow our brand share of voice in-store, digitally & across all media channels. The ideal candidate will have coursework and an interest in trade/consumer/event marketing, PR, digital marketing, social media marketing, ecommerce and B2B marketing.

 

This is a part-time (20hrs/week) paid internship

The position is based in our Centennial, CO office.

Responsibilities: 

Work at the direction of the Marketing team to drive awareness for Outward Hound and our other brands: Petstages, Dublin Dog, Bionic and Nina Ottosson.

Contribute to OH multi-channel media strategy, while helping to coordinate samples for high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.

Research and write on assigned topics for OH Blog, BUZZWOOF.

Work with Marketing team to provide Sales teams with exceptional marketing materials and assets.

Work with Marketing to develop and maintain influencer and volunteer databases.

Contribute to event logistics, publicity, including public relations, advertising and collateral material design production and distribution for maximum event exposure.

Work with Social Media team to generate buzz-worthy and shareable content.

Requirements:

Majoring in Marketing, Business, Advertising, Public Relations, or another relevant field of study.

You love dogs (cats too!) and all things woof.

You like writing.

You’re super organized.

Ability to collaborate and work with cross-functional teams.

Must be able to work in an environment with free roaming dogs.
