Last weekend marked the first-ever Dog Film Festival in Los Angeles, and let’s just say, we’re already looking forward to next year!
Afternoon Tea Pooch Party at the VCA of West Los Angeles
We kicked off the arrival of the Dog Film Festival in Los Angeles by celebrating at the VCA of West Los Angeles with the amazing Melissa Rivers, Tracie Hotchner and Lou Wegner– the founder of Kids Against Animal Cruelty.
The event was partly made possible through the efforts of our friends at the Petco Foundation and their sponsorship was what made this event (as we would say) “Raise the Woof!”

The support from the Los Angeles community to the Lange Foundation and Downtown Dog Rescue was really inspiring and the word of the event even brought along a surprise appearance from celebrity Andie MacDowell and her dog, Ava.
Another highlight of the Pooch Party was the award ceremony. As sponsors of the event, we were happy to attend and donate to the Dog Film Fest beneficiaries including the Lange Foundation and Downtown Dog Rescue to help dogs across greater Los Angeles find new homes. We were even more proud to see that co-sponsor, HALO Pets donated 10,000 bowls of food to both the Downtown Dog Rescue as well as The Lange Foundation.
Day 2: The Film Festival
The pawrty didn’t stop on Saturday. On Sunday, we were able to Raise the Woof at the historic Crest Westwood Theater in Los Angeles for the premier of the Dog Film Festival!
Dogs took to the step and repeat and movie goers were invited to grab popcorn and watch the shows!
We had such a woof-derful time with everyone who came out to support & attend the Dog Film Fest and want to especially thank the Petco Foundation for all of their amazing contributions who made this event one for the books!
If you missed the event in L.A. don’t worry, the Film Fest is traveling across the U.S.! Find the Film Fest at a city near you and get your tickets here!
