Refreshing your skills annually will keep you ready if it does. Some apps can even connect you to a veterinarian for a <a href=\"https:\/\/network.bestfriends.org\/tools-and-information\/editorials\/vet-app-helps-shelters-and-foster-homes\">virtual appointment<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Apps:<\/strong> The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aspca.org\/pet-care\/animal-poison-control\/apcc-mobile-app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ASPCA<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redcross.org\/get-help\/prepare-for-emergencies\/mobile-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Red Cross<\/a> both have great apps to help if your pet gets hurt or possibly poisoned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hands-on<\/strong> Training: For those looking to get certified, or want more hands-on training just to be comfortable if it&#8217;s ever needed, check out <a href=\"https:\/\/petemergencyeducation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pet Emergency Education, LLC<\/a>, where you can find a class in your area and receive a Pet CPR &amp; First Aid Certification. The American Red Cross also has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcross.org\/take-a-class\/cpr\/performing-cpr\/pet-cpr\">pet CPR<\/a> certification course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Practice Prevention<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowing how to perform basic pet first aid is essential, but so is knowing how to prevent an accident.
