Earth Day is upon us and if you’re like us you might be considering how to give back to Mother Earth. Here at Planet Dog we care deeply about the planet and wanted to share with you what we are doing to celebrate Earth Day as well as offer fun ways for you to spend Earth Day at home with your pooch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THIS EARTH DAY PLANET DOG PARTNERS WITH ONE TREE PLANTED<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We keep the environment in mind every day, but this Earth Day Planet Dog wanted to take our efforts one step further. This year we have decided to partner with One Tree Planted\/@onetreeplanted to plant 100 new trees in areas that need it most!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. Their mission is to reforest the planet, one tree at a time. Every $1 donated helps plant 1 tree. They are working on projects around the globe- North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. One Tree Planted focuses on reforesting areas after natural disasters that may cause deforestation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOW CAN YOU AND YOUR DOG GIVE BACK FOR EARTH DAY?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wondering what you can do from home this year to celebrate Earth Day with your pooch?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Get outside for a walk or game of fetch with your dog. There is no better way to celebrate the Earth than by enjoying it responsibly! Even better- pick up 5 pieces of trash you see on the ground during your walk and throw them away or recycle them to help clean up!<\/li>
  2. Use biodegradable poop bags- they are less harmful than plastic ones.<\/li>
  3. Donate dog gear that you and your dog no longer need (leashes, beds, toys, etc.) to your local animal shelter. Dog gear is recyclable too!<\/li>
  4. Make a DIY dog bed out of up-cycled blankets and pillows. We found this super simple, no-sew, DIY dog bed<\/a>.<\/li>
  5. Consider purchasing dog food\/treats\/chews\/etc in bulk. Buying in bulk uses a lot less plastic packaging per product. Plus buying in bulk is typically cheaper!<\/li>
  6. If your dog is messy consider using plant-based cleaning products and washable rags for cleaning versus paper towels. Constantly throwing away paper towels can be wasteful.<\/li>
  7. Plant a tree with One Tree Planted<\/a>! It is easy to donate $1 (or more) and get a tree planted in an area that needs it most!<\/li>
  8.
